Plein Air at Waters Edge Resort
The Plein Air Competition and Sale at Waters Edge On Oct 5 was a great success. 23 artists gathered to paint on the beautiful grounds of the Waters Edge Resort and Spa. The weather was spectacular. Guests at the resort strolled the grounds to watch and engage with the artists while they painted. Each artist had a unique take on the landscape and produced some really beautiful work.

Waters Edge put on a lovely reception which was well attended by CAS members and hotel guests. At the end of the evening, we sold 6 paintings! The judge, Howard Park, awarded prizes totaling $500. Congratulations to the winners.

Paint It! General Critiques
When: First Thursday of the Month, 10 am – Noon
Where: Virtual via Zoom

Join in this lively discussion of composition, materials and techniques. Members may submit a work for discussion via email to [email protected]. A Zoom link will be sent upon submission. Please submit your painting by Wednesday at 4 pm prior to the Thursday Critique.

Paint It! Themed Critiques
When: Third Saturday of the Month, 10 am – Noon
Where: Virtual via Zoom
Themed critiques will resume November 6. The themed will be a dominant color.

Members create artworks in any media based on that sessions’ theme. Submit in progress pieces, drawings, paintings or finished pieces for discussion to [email protected]. Each participant will discuss their process with the theme. Join us for a great way to challenge and build skills. Please submit paintings by Friday at 4pm prior to the Saturday session. A link for the zoom session will be sent upon submission of your painting.
